This is not where I am supposed to be. I was supposed to have a career and feel financially stable. I worked my ass of to become highly educated, My education seems to only cause me to be more irritated with others and watching others rise to positions that they have not earned and are not even qualified for. I do a job that requires little more than a high school diploma. Being the highest educated person around and being treated as if i am stupid and ignorant just because of my position does one of two things depending on the day. On the rare day that i am just feeling amazing and nothing could get me down, i am able to laugh people off. On most days i am irritated. As a mature person with a good work ethic however, it seldom shows. I do however get very irritated. the irritation stems from several things. For one, I am not supposed to be here. This is not what i am supposed to be doing. Next, i am irritated that instead of trying to create better, more compitant employees and coworkers the people in higher positions treat them like shit and keep them ignorant and stupid. A person can not learn if someone does not tell them any different. i work on an equal level with people that have no idea why thing need to be done a certain way, They do not make the connection a lot of times between cause and effect. Many of these people have no concept of proper communication or basic empathy. There are many days that i very much understand the term, ignorance is bliss. I seriously believe that i may be happier if i had stayed the ignorant stay at home mother and wife.

At the age of 25, with two young boys, i decided that i wanted more out of life. I didn’t want my life to be about taking care of children and cleaning house and cooking. I told myself that my children were going to see the importance of hard work and the result of not giving up. Boy do I feel like a failure. My boys watched me my boys watched me first become a medical assistant and then go on to earn two associates degrees, a bachelor’s degree and then an MBA. They watched me put in so much time and work my ass off for what at the time they referred to as making a better life. My husband has supported me from day one.

So many times, I cry because i am so frustrated. I have an MBA and am doing a job that requires little more than a high school diploma. It seems so unfair. Not enough experience is always the excuse. What good is education if nobody cares about the grades or the education. Seems like unless the position requires a license, education plays very little part in landing a job.
